Tips for Working Out at Home

Hey y'all! Welcome back to faith & flair pens. I'm super glad you're back and excited to share another post with y'all today! Today I'm going to share my tips for working out at home. Last year once my gym closed because of the pandemic I loosely and randomly tried different things online to workout at home. Then in July of last year, I stumbled on Refit Revolution, a fitness company out of Waco, TX, and I feel in love it it. There's live and on demand online workouts for only $10 a month and a really fun and inclusive community through a Facebook group. I got really serious about it in January and even canceled my gym membership when it opened back up again. I do have other posts about Refit, so check those out if you're interested linked here. But the reason I share that is now I'm fully working out a home. I enjoyed having a gym and I might join one in the future, but for my life right now, working out at home is the way to go. Since I've been working out at home exclusively for about a year now, I wanted to share my tips for those who are also interested in working out a home but need some tips. I hope you enjoy and find these tips helpful!

Use a workout system/company/community- Having a company or community like Refit or even a workout system you can find on YouTube videos is really helpful because it makes sure you're following something created by a professional and effective. That is just better for ease of deciding what to do for your workouts and making sure you stay safe and don't hurt yourself rather than just making something up on your own. It's also nice to know that these things have a variety/ range of prices so you'll be able to find something you can afford.

Make a plan for your workouts- It cam be so easy to get tripped up on the details on your workout when you're working out at home, so make sure you have a plan of what kind of workout you'd like to do each day, where in your home you'll workout, and what time you'll workout. I can say that having a plan makes it so much more likely that I'll make my workout happen that day.

Prep for workouts like you would going to the gym- It makes it so much easier if you prep for your workout- even if you're just working out at home! I typically work out in the mornings, so I'll prep the night before by laying out my workout clothes, putting a pair of socks in my tennis shoes, and filling up my water bottle the night before. This is similar to packing your gym bag and makes such a difference in getting my workout done, especially because I workout in the morning. Knowing that when I wake up in the morning, I don't have anything else to do or any other decisions to make past changing clothes and pressing play on my workout really helps to make sure I make my workout happen that day. Since being on summer break I've gotten more relaxed about this and I've really seen a difference for the worse. Prep for your workouts people!

Make sure any essentials are close by- For my workouts I keep a fan and a water bottle close by. Just like yo carry things around the gym that you'll need, do that at home too. That way you won't have to stop to waste time grabbing things you need.

I hope these tips are helpful! Do you workout at home? Let me know! I hope you have a great day!

XOXO

Faith
